Bulgakov Museum opened a new space on Bolshaya Pirogovskaya Street 35a.
The exposition is devoted to Bulgakov's work, writing, ways of reading his works, their text and context. It is divided into three parts: a corridor, an office and a room. The graphic concept is based on the image of Bulgakov's creative path at 35A on Bolshaya Pirogovskaya, symbolizing variability and movement — the writer's creative crisis and overcoming it. The space of the Museum, which had been changing over time, forms a graphic language. This idea echoes the presence of several layers of narrative in Bulgakov's prose.
The format grid is three-part, it is built in accordance with the Museum's space plan in different years of its existence. Austerity of the font and density of the set allows to freely place text on a non-standard grid, forming a graphic system and setting dynamics of the composition within the format space. Graphic elements are placed in headings, quoting the writer's remarks, punching up the communication.
The graphic idea is continued in the navigation system for the Museum, as well as in the layout of texts and labels for the internal space of the Museum and regular exhibitions.
As part of the identity, souvenir products and printed products style were created.
A flexible dynamic system shapes the approach to graphic solution.
